Great Deals Abound in Noisy Neighborhoods

Homes located on busy streets or near train tracks often sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars less than those in quieter neighborhoods.
Innovative noise-reduction techniques allow buyers to take advantage of these price discounts.

Dual-paned windows, stone walls, high fences, waterfalls, and fountains are just some of the ways that builders can block out noise.

Others incorporate U-shaped designs to close in the backyard and install intercoms to play music throughout the home.

Another strategy is to build the master bedroom as far as possible from the source of the noise.
